6 Black Turquoise and Orange Shweshwe Fat Quarters

A fabric bundle consisting of 6 different shweshwe prints, all made from 100% cotton.

Each piece is approximately 45 cm x 50 cm and you will receive the 6 different prints shown in the images. Please note that colours may appear differently on your computer/device.

If you are familiar shweshwe, you will know that it is stiff with starch and requires washing before it is used. Allow for 8% shrinkage.

This bundle is great if you want a variety of fabrics without having to buy whole metres. Ideal for smaller crafting, patchwork and quilting projects.

The recommendation is that you ALWAYS WASH Shweshwe fabric before sewing. This will remove the stiffness of the fabric.

ABOUT SHWESHWE FABRIC
Shweshwe is a printed dyed cotton fabric widely used in traditional South African clothing; dresses, skirts, and so on. It was originally dyed indigo but is now manufactured in a variety of colours and designs. It is manufactured by Da Gama Textiles in the Zwelitsha township outside King William’s Town in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
