A simple and bold shweshwe fabric in blue. I call this one the stellar shweshwe becuase there is something ‘outer space’ about it! This is the original shweshwe from South Africa, from the popular three cats brand. Kindly note that colours may appear differently on your computer screen or device.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

• Wash Separately
• 40 degree wash
• Do not bleach
• Do not tumble dry
• Do not dry clean
• Warm Iron

The recommendation is that you ALWAYS WASH Shweshwe fabric before sewing. This will remove the stiffness of the fabric.

ABOUT SHWESHWE FABRIC
Shweshwe is a printed dyed cotton fabric widely used in traditional South African clothing; dresses, skirts, and so on. It was originally dyed indigo but is now manufactured in a variety of colours and designs. The formal name for shwe shwe is ‘Indigo-dyed discharge printed fabric’.

It is a trademarked fabric and is manufactured by Da Gama Textiles in the Zwelitsha township outside King William’s Town in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
