Pink and Black Batik Stripes- 2.4 yards

A simple and striking batik from Nigeria with pinkish and white stripes against a black background. This batik fabric is handmade in Southern Nigeria, West Africa. The design is a modern take on traditional batik fabric.

The stripes vary in width across the width of the fabric with the ones in the centre of the fabric thinner than the ones at the edges. The lines run parallel to the selvedge of the fabric.

This particular fabric is additionally versatile as you can choose to use either side of the fabric. One side is a crisper version  of the patterns with more pink while the other side is slightly more varied and darker with more blue-black where you can see more of the melted wax effect in the finish.

This is a 2.4 yard length, which gives you a continuous length of approximately 2.2 metres of fabric. The fabric is made using 100% cotton and is suitable for a wide range of sewing projects.

Due to the unpredictable and organic nature of the dyeing process of batik, the outcome often varies with colours coming out lighter or darker than before.
