Fabric of the Week: Blue and White Brushstrokes
The Blue and White Brushstrokes Batik from Nigeria comes in the simplest of colour palettes. A blue-black with dramatic brushstrokes. Like many other resist dyed fabric, it can look slightly different between production batches. This is especially true in this case as the brushstrokes are done by hand using wax to block out the white areas. The blue is sometimes closer to black than it is to blue.
Nevertheless, it makes for a versatile fabric design and would look good made up in almost any type of garment. Below are a few examples from our ‘Look What They Made‘ gallery.
If you have made something from this beautiful Adire, we would love to see what you have made and would love to feature you on the blog.
