Fabric of the Week: Purple and Aubergine Marble Batik
It is currently all about the Batiks as we have new designs in from Ghana and Nigeria. This week’s favoured fabric is the Purple and Aubergine Marble Batik.
This new addition to the batik selection was instant love at first sight. There is just something about the marbled batiks. They look like abstract landscapes, each in its own way a piece of art.
Although in a way dramatic, they are an easy choice for almost any garment, as the design and colour is non-directional. You are able to make efficient use of your fabric as you don’t have to worry about pattern matching and placements as such.
They work just as well on simple items as well as the more complex.
There is also something quite enjoyable about watching a garment come together where you are not quite sure where a certain shade of the colour will appear. This is what is unique about batik!
The fabric is 100% cotton and available as either a 2.2 metre or a 4.4 metre length here: Purple and Aubergine Marble Batik.
