We tried our hands at the new Syli Blouse pattern by Named Clothing. The Syli blouse is a roomy top with a simple tie fastening at the neck. It was made in our Lime Blue and Orange Floral Shweshwe. We decided to go for the Syli blouse in floral print as it shows off the vibrant colours of the flowers and works well with the simplicity of the garment. A great pattern with clear instructions to follow and options for more elaborate sleeves. There is also the option for a dress.
It is the kind of pattern that will work well with plain as well as patterned fabric. We think it’ll work well too with a really large print for a more dramatic, statement blouse. It is certainly the kind of pattern that suits the types of fabric we stock. It shows off print really well and can be paired with black trousers or jeans.
Lastly, it is one of those styles that suits many body shapes. Overall a fun make and a highly recommended pattern if you are a beginner sewist.
