Sew Happy has created a gorgeous dress using one of our fabrics and documented the process. How fabulous is that? The pattern is the Wren Blouse and Dress by Chalk and Notch. The pattern is available in both printed and PDF formats. It is a button-front blouse or a mini dress. The mini dress has a dropped waist with a gathered skirt and is loose around the waist and hips. There are two options for statement sleeves; a short sleeve with a puff cap and an elastic hem and a long sleeve with a cuff.
In the video, Sew Happy has combined the short sleeve version with the ruffle skirt version using our Turquoise and Blue Black Batik. You’ll see the full process of how the dress is sewn, from the arm and neck facings, the button plackets, and the skirt gathers. The tutorial is intended to help beginners and make their sewing the dress easier.
