Fabric of the Week: Leaf Trail Ankara
The Leaf trail Ankara wax print fabric is a classic. The print design has been around for decades. As with a lot of wax prints, it is available in many colourways. This one is a somewhat minimalist version in blue. Wax prints are hardly ever described as minimal, yet this one is more muted than is typical, mainly because of the use of one main colour.
It is made by GTP in Ghana and is from the Safao range which is their range of wax prints that are printed in shades of the same colour. What I would call the monochrome range.
The floral swirls and leaves are still bold and make for many interesting garments. Here are a few from our Pinterest inspiration board.
